Bec Enders was sworn in as the Huon Valley Mayor only eight weeks before the region’s devastating fires in 2019. She went on to lead her community through what was a traumatic and history making event with compassion and strength.
Bec lives in the Huon Valley, where she’s been a resident for seven years. She’s been Chair of the Southern Tasmanian Councils Authority and a Director on Destination Southern Tasmania and has significant experience in both local and state government. Bec was successful in becoming the first female Mayor of the Huon Valley at her first attempt and is passionate about the promotion of women at all levels of politics.
She also has a commitment to driving policy in the areas of aboriginal affairs, anti-social behaviour, skills and training, youth mental health and suicide, as well as helping those most disadvantaged in our community.
