Ben Shaw lives with his wife Jacklyn and their two daughters in the Derwent Valley. Ben grew up in New Norfolk and, like his father and grandfather, went on to work at the Boyer paper mill. He later moved into roles in the electrical engineering industry.
Ben was tired of seeing his community taken for granted, so he put his hand up and was elected to the Derwent Valley Council in 2014. As a local Mayor since 2018, Ben has been a strong advocate for our region and has been working closely with the State Government to improve our local community.
Ben’s achievements include re-surfacing Glenora Road, construction of the Maydena Bike Park and the re-build of the Police Station at New Norfolk.
Ben is young, passionate and approachable. With your support, Ben will be a stronger voice for Derwent in Parliament as part of Peter Gutwein’s Liberal Team.
