Aged Care Restrictions

From Monday 22 June 2020 we will ease visitation restrictions on aged care facilities in line with public health advice, so Tasmanians can spend more time with loved ones.

Following consultation with the aged care sector this includes:

  • Up to two people per visit with visit times unrestricted and multiple visits allowed in one day, subject to facility policy;
  • Persons under the age of 16 will be allowed to visit an aged care facility;
  • Visiting services such as hairdressers and allied health professionals will be able to attend a facility; and
  • Residents will be allowed to leave the facility, for example with friends and family.

All other restrictions remain the same and must continue to be adhered to, to protect Tasmanians and keep our elderly and more vulnerable population safe.

Please continue to adhere to the restrictions still in place, download the COVIDSafe App to assist with tracing efforts, practice good hygiene and physical distancing and remember to get tested if you have mild symptoms.
