Young Liberals

Since the foundation of the Liberal Party of Australia by Sir Robert Menzies in 1945, the Young Liberal Movement have been an integral force of energy, and a beacon of Liberal values, within our Party.

Members of the Young Liberals come from a diversity of backgrounds, united in our love for Australia and our belief that Australia’s success is best guaranteed by free individuals and communities having a go and making a contribution. We reject our opponents’ belief that our prosperity can be guaranteed by big government, more spending and higher taxes.

The Young Liberal Movement offers many opportunities to young people aged between 16 and 30 years old. You can:

  • Get involved in election campaigns and take the fight to Labor and the Greens
  • Get involved in policy debate and development
  • Meet and select our politicians
  • Meet like-minded people
  • Run for elected office.

The Young Liberals are a centre-right, mainstream political organisation with a political philosophy focussed on limited government power, low taxes, individual responsibility, a focus on the family and a strong belief in rewarding initiative and private enterprise. We defend the fundamental freedoms - the freedom of thought, worship, speech and association.

If these values resonate with you, we want you to us today.
