Jo Palmer Elected to Represent Rosevears

The voters of Rosevears have enthusiastically endorsed Jo Palmer’s and Peter Gutwein’s plan to rebuild the Tasmanian economy after coronavirus.

Following today’s distribution of preferences, the Tasmanian Electoral Commission has confirmed that Liberal candidate Jo Palmer has been elected to represent the people of Rosevears in the Legislative Council.

Jo gave 100% to her campaign and her passion and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated and admired by the Party’s membership.

Jo Palmer’s hard work saw the final Liberal vote increase by 10.9% since the last election. This is a substantial achievement which was only possible because of the special dedication and commitment of Jo and her family to the campaign.

Jo Palmer has a strong record as a dynamic ambassador for northern Tasmania and is passionate about creating local jobs, supporting small business and seeing families thrive.

Jo Palmer will be a trusted voice in Parliament for the people of Launceston and the West Tamar. As a strong advocate within the State Government, Jo will continue to work to reboot and reopen the Tasmanian economy, and to help rebuild local communities, businesses and livelihoods.

The Tasmanian Liberals would also like to thank the thousands of Liberal supporters who have voted for us in Rosevears, and express our gratitude to the many volunteers, supporters and members for their help in achieving this historic victory.

Congratulations to Janie Finlay on a well-run and energetic campaign. We wish her well in the next steps in her career.
