Helping more young Tasmanians into work

A re-elected majority Gutwein Liberal Government will Secure Tasmania’s Future through our $98.5 million investment in TasTAFE that will deliver 100 more teachers and brand-new infrastructure across the State.

This includes our $7 million investment into the Clarence Campus to build a new student accommodation facility, allowing it to house up to 90 students once complete.

The Clarence student accommodation based on campus is already a highly valued resource by our young apprentices and trainees.

The upgrades will allow even more young Tasmanians from rural and regional areas to study away from home and get the training, apprenticeships and jobs for the future right here in Tasmania.

Importantly, it will also maximise the benefits of our new $21 million TasTAFE Water, Trades and Energy Centre of Excellence at Clarence.

And despite Labor’s desperate scare campaign, TasTAFE will remain in public ownership as a Government organisation, delivering more choice for learners, better pay for skilled teachers and flexible hours aligned to business and industry vocational needs.
