Securing iconic Tasmanian events

Tasmania’s iconic events are loved locally and are a massive tourism drawcard, that’s why a re-elected majority Gutwein Liberal Government will provide $8 million to secure existing events and festivals, and attract new ones.

The Events Support and Attraction Fund will help secure events – such as the iconic Marion Bay Falls Festival – which are important economic drivers of our regions.

Over the past seven years Tasmania has hosted an exciting and diverse range of events, from markets to fairs and major sporting events, to concerts and festivals.

These events are part of the Tasmanian way of life, and shine a light on our regions.

Each year, thousands of Tasmanians attend these events, and they’ve become an important part of the Tasmanian way of life.

We want to continue shining a light on our regions through iconic events, and this Fund will help draw tens of thousands more visitors to Tasmania, providing much needed stimulus for local business, tourism and hospitality across our regions.

A re-elected majority Liberal Government will work to secure not only events that already take place in our State, but attract new ones to secure Tasmania’s future.
