Securing netball's future in the North

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is passionate about the growth of netball in the state and we are committed to investing in the development of modern facilities for all levels of the sport in northern Tasmania, including elite competition.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed today between Premier Peter Gutwein and the Northern Tasmanian Netball Association, will ensure a re-elected Liberal Government will invest in a dedicated netball hub in Northern Tasmania.

The hub will be fit-for-purpose with netball as the priority tenant, including modern indoor playing facilities and administration rooms to support participation growth.

The MOU commits both parties to work together in good faith to develop the facility in consultation with the relevant Local Government authority and Netball Tasmania.

I’m confident this will give netball the confidence to plan for future growth.

Our Government has listened carefully to the netball community and the hub will be an excellent addition to existing facilities, including the current Hobblers Bridge facility.
