The Dove Lake Viewing Shelter is a significant, multi-million dollar piece of infrastructure that the Liberal Government is delivering.
While weather has impacted the initial construction schedule – which is not unexpected given the area’s alpine environment- the shelter is currently under construction and is on track to be completed by October this year.
We have invested significantly in the area and enhanced its reputation as global destination for nature-based tourism, as evidenced by the new Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre and Gateway that was opened last year.
By contrast, Labor neglected Cradle Mountain when in Government with the Greens, failing to invest and having no plan for our natural areas other than locking them up. And given the only way they can form Government is in partnership with the Greens, there is no doubt they would do it again.
