Dear Mr Browne

Thank you for your letter outlining Gun Control Australia’s questions to the Liberals for the 2021 State election.

I am pleased to respond on behalf of all Liberal Members and Candidates.

A majority Liberal Government will not do anything to undermine the principles of the National Firearms Agreement or to weaken Tasmania’s firearms laws.

Our overriding principle in relation to any proposed changes to the law continues to be that we will not do anything to undermine the National Firearms Agreement.

The Liberal Government established the House of Assembly Select Committee on Firearms Legislation and Policy and if re-elected, we will further consider the recommendations of its report.
