Nick Duigan Elected in Windermere

Media Statement from Stuart Smith, State Director, Liberal Party of Australia (Tasmanian Division):

Voters have enthusiastically backed Nick Duigan, as part of Peter Gutwein's Liberal team, to deliver real results in Windermere.

Following today’s distribution of preferences, the Tasmanian Electoral Commission has confirmed that Liberal candidate Nick Duigan has been elected to represent the people of Windermere in the Legislative Council.

Nick has been an outstanding candidate and, with the assistance of his wife Amanda and their three daughters, he received strong local support during his energetic campaign. Nick will now be a hardworking advocate for the community he loves.

Like in Rosevears last year, this result has shown that voters in Tasmania increasingly want results from the Legislative Council, not just talk.

As part of Peter Gutwein's team, Nick Duigan will deliver real results for Windermere as we work to secure Tasmania’s future.

The Tasmanian Liberals would like to thank the thousands of Liberal supporters who have voted for us in Windermere, and express our gratitude to the many volunteers, supporters and members for their help in winning the Party’s fourth seat in the Legislative Council.

Congratulations to Geoff Lyons and Will Smith for their determined local campaigns in Windermere. We wish them well in their next endeavours.
