A re-elected Morrison Government will invest $1.5 million to fund upgrades to the Wynyard childcare centre to deliver larger and better facilities.
Liberal Member for Braddon, Gavin Pearce said that ensuring the north-west community has the facilities it needs is all part of his plan for Braddon.
“This investment is all about ensuring that the next generation have the best possible start in life,” Mr Pearce said.
“With forecast childcare demands increasing, Wynyard needs a facility that will be fit-for-purpose and able to deliver these much-needed services to our community.
“I have worked closely with the centre on its plans for the future, and am confident that with the help of this funding from the Morrison Government they will be able to ensure our kids continue to receive the early learning support they need.
“As the only service of its kind in the area, increasing the services and programs on offer will deliver a huge benefit to families in the Waratah-Wynyard municipality and surrounding regions.
“This commitment builds on the Morrison Government’s ongoing investment in child care, which benefits more than 5,000 families in Braddon. The Morrison Government is also making child care more affordable, by removing the annual cap on the Child Care Subsidy and providing additional support for families with multiple children in child care at the same time.”
“The Morrison Government’s strong economic management is what allows us to invest in projects like this that deliver the services that north-west Tasmanians rely upon.
“Only our government has a plan to keep our economy strong and secure the future of regional communities like Waratah-Wynyard.”
