Brown Calls for Increased Ferry Services

I’m passionate about being a fresh voice for the Eastern Shore.

Eastern Shore residents need more public transport options to avoid traffic congestion and reduce the costs of running family cars around.

Our population is growing and I believe our public transport system needs to grow with it.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has done a great job starting the Derwent Ferry service, connecting the Eastern Shore to Hobart CBD by water.

It’s a fast, convenient and comfortable commuter service.

However, it is my view this service has so much more potential, and I’ll be talking to my Liberal Party colleagues about the expansion of this service.

As a priority the Derwent Ferry service should run on Saturdays.

I also see potential in an additional ferry vessel being added to increase the number of services, particularly at peak times.

There is so much potential to expand the service to additional routes too.

The Eastern Shore is one of the best places on the planet to live, work and raise a family, and I’m passionate about helping residents with access to transport options, quality healthcare, as well as ensuring I’m doing all I can to help people with matters that impact their hip-pocket.

Voters looking for a fresh voice for the Eastern Shore can rest assured I will work tirelessly for them as their Member for Pembroke.
