Labor’s health funding announcement leaves Lyons off the map

Liberal Senator for Tasmania, Senator Wendy Askew, says Labor has broken a promise to Tasmania with its belated Urgent Care Centres.

“Labor promised to have these centres up and running within 12 months of taking office,” the Senator said.

“Here we are almost 12 months later and Labor hasn’t met its promised deadline.

“Right now, sick and injured Tasmanians are missing out because Labor has dropped the ball.”

Candidate for Lyons, Susie Bower, called for an Urgent Care Centre to be built in Lyons.

“It’s good to see Labor has finally started its commitments to Tasmania, but the Lyons community has been overlooked.” Ms Bower said.

“Given that some of the fastest growing areas in Tasmania are in Lyons, we need one of these centres built here in our community.”

“I will be campaigning long and hard for at least one Urgent Care Centre to be located in Lyons. I will always stand up for Lyons and make sure it gets its fair share of health funding.”
