Securing popular Festa Italia for the next four years

The Rockliff Liberal Government has a 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's future so we can take action on the issues affecting Tasmanians right now.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff has today announced a four-year $50,000 funding package for popular festival Festa Italia.

“A re-elected majority Liberal Government will provide $12,500 a year over the next four years for this wonderful celebration of Italian culture," Premier Rockliff said.

"We know how important it is that Tasmanians can connect and celebrate our rich heritage at organised events and this investment will secure the event for years to come."

Liberal Member for Clark, Madeleine Ogilvie, said that Festa is a staple of the Hobart events calendar and investing in its ongoing success is important.

"As a Government we understand we must support Festa, which attracts 10,000 people to North Hobart each year and is going from strength to strength," Minister Ogilvie said.

Liberal Member for Clark, Simon Behrakis, said he is passionate about ensuring Tasmanians have events to celebrate our shared stories.

"I know firsthand the role our vibrant migrant communities play across Tasmania, and this investment will ensure that continues, " Mr Behrakis said.
