The Labor Leader yesterday failed to back Tasmania’s first home buyers to stamp out stamp duty.
Ms White’s response to the Rockliff plan to introduce a short stay levy to help first home buyers was to ask: “would it be something that will be spent on benefiting Tasmanians?”
Yes, Ms White it will.
The levy will raise $11million a year which will be directly invested in stamping out stamp duty for young Tasmanians buying their first home up to $750,000.
It’s a straight forward package deal.
It’s a plan that doesn’t rely on Labor’s magicial money tree.
Labor doesn’t back the short stay levy, and doesn’t back stamping out stamp duty.
Labor won’t help young Tasmanians secure their first home.
