A re-elected majority Rockliff Liberal Government will provide $5 million to help secure the re-opening of the Glenorchy War Memorial Pool.
“The Glenorchy Pool is an institution in Hobart’s northern suburbs and its closure was a real blow to the local community," Mr Street said.
“In September, the Rockliff Liberal Government announced an allocation of $200,000 to investigate options to conduct a full evaluation of the pool and calculate both the development and operational costs of replacing the pool.
“MI Global Partners has been appointed to conduct this work with public consultation sessions to be held next week in Glenorchy, Moonah and Claremont.
“This $5 million will allow the pool to re-open while longer-term solutions are developed.”
