Federal Labor leave White and Winter all at sea

Labor’s claim it will pull funding from the Marinus project has been called out as a complete fraud by their Federal colleagues.

This afternoon in the senate Federal Labor confirmed the option for Tasmania to walk away from the project can only be exercised after its built and commissioned. That’s five years away.

Labor will still have to fund the project - exactly the same as the current situation.

Federal Labor has exposed this as yet another White/Winter hoax, unless they intend to cancel the project altogether.

On the one hand Mr Winter says Labor won’t throw “good money after bad”, on the other hand Labor confirms it will continue to fund the project until it’s built.

All Labor's reckless pledge to ‘pull the plug’ on the project has done is undermine investor confidence and put Labor on a unity ticket with the Greens.

Only a re-elected majority Rockliff Liberal Government and our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future will ensure we continue to have the lowest power prices in the nation and ensure the State’s energy security.
