Labor guts its own plan to gut Hydro

Labor has stunningly abandoned its flagship power policy after just one day.

On Tuesday, Ms White and her reckless energy spokesman proudly unveiled the ‘Tasmanian Power Co’ which would involve: ‘The transfer of Hydro Tasmania’s existing wind assets and Entura’.

The plan lasted just one day.

By Wednesday, any reference to the Tasmanian Power Co or the transfer of Entura had been scrubbed from Labor’s policy documents at the direction of the unions.

Labor’s mainland masters thought they could do a rip-and-replicate of a Dan Andrews election gimmick.

It might have worked in Victoria but it has crashed and burned in Tasmania.

The transfer of Entura - Hydro’s cutting-edge planning department which employs 260 highly-skilled professionals - will gut Hydro.

Labor appears to be pressing ahead with its plan to rip half a billion dollars of wind farm assets out of Hydro.

But who knows. It’s only Thursday.

Mr Winter needs to explain what’s left in the ashes of his plan to gut Hydro and drive up power prices.

If Labor can’t roll out a flagship policy that lasts more than just one day, how can they possibly govern Tasmania?

Just imagine that Coalition of Chaos.

Only a re-elected majority Liberal Government will save Hydro, and build Tasmania’s next-generation renewable energy future.
