Chris Gatenby is committed to serving Bass with a focus on health, housing, education and tackling the cost-of-living, all whilst preserving Tasmania's heritage and way of life.
A 7th generation Tasmanian, Chris was raised on a farm in Northern Tasmania and then in Launceston. His values and journey into public service are rooted in his early life experiences -hard work, community service and resilience.
Chris is supported by his wife Libby, a florist who grew up on Flinders Island, and son Jack and daughter Florence - the future generation Chris is working so passionately to secure. They previously ran a small business in Launceston giving him a fundamental understanding of its role in the economy and aspiration.
From his broad career, including senior roles in policy development, advocacy and government across Australia and the UK, predominantly in health, small business and agriculture, Chris has always focused on listening and making a real difference through practical policies. He has also contributed to the political landscape of Tasmania, serving a term as State President of the Liberal Party.
Chris is a member of various community organisations, that have instilled in him their importance in the community, including a Board Member of the Launceston Harvest Market. He also strongly supports our veterans.
Chris Gatenby is seeking your support to make a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Bass. Give Gatenby a Go!
