Marilena is determined to make a difference and be a voice for the people of Clark. She believes in putting people at the centre of all decision-making, listening and being available to achieve positive outcomes for all.

Marilena was born and raised in Tasmania, as a first-generation Australian to Italian migrant parents in a household of traditional values where hard work was instilled in her at a young age.

After leaving school she joined the Royal Australian Air Force, serving as a Medic domestically and overseas.

Returning to Tasmania to raise her son, Marilena worked in aged care nursing before gaining employment in the Tasmanian State Service. Working in the Tasmanian Department of Health for 16 years across various positions including administration, management and health planning.

In 2019, Marilena started her own small business. She understands the challenges and demands that come with operating a small business and wants to see Tasmania be the hub of small businesses with a fair playing field and reduced red tape so Tasmanian business can thrive.
