Rob Fairs is probably better known as beloved multimedia personality “Fairsy” - a public voice of the Northern Tasmanian community for 35 years.

And yet it is his work behind the scenes that has impacted the lives of thousands of Tasmanians.

With a heart as big as Tasmania, Rob volunteered when first asked by F1 legend Mark Webber to establish and then later help manage his Mark Webber Multi Sport Challenges, which subsequently raised $1.5 million for Tasmanian and national charities.

As a 15-year Ambassador for Whitelion, a national charity assisting at-risk Tasmanian youth, Fairsy stepped up when they pulled out of the state and established his volunteer-run not for profit organisation, The Rob Fairs Foundation.

It has so far raised more than $140,000 and is transforming the lives of dozens of young Northern Tasmanians, with operations now expanding into Hobart and the South.

Prior to entering Parliament Rob also owned and operated a very successful Tasmanian small business, a sports management, marketing and promotions company.

Rob Fairs lives, works and breathes Northern Tasmania with Jo, his wife of 27 years, and believes now is the time to step-up even further on behalf of all Tasmanians as a Liberal member for Bass.

Fairsy is passionate about a strong economy and jobs growth and responsible Liberal government providing the best pathways for all Tasmanians to achieve their goals and aspirations, while maintaining the financial capacity to deliver first-class government services and assistance to those most in need.

His particular interests include the disadvantaged, youth justice, homelessness, sport, small business and the agriculture sector.
