Simon Wood has lived in Launceston nearly his whole life and has proudly represented the seat of Bass since 2022. He served as a councillor on the Launceston City Council from 2014 to 2018 and has a reputation for being proactive and approachable.
With a strong background in small family business, Simon is passionate about delivering jobs and opportunities in Bass. He works hard to engage closely with a range of organisations and businesses, building local networks through sporting clubs, community groups and service providers.
Simon wants Tasmania’s families and young people to have the best opportunities to succeed. His grass roots community connections make him a strong local member who is always ready to engage with, learn about and advocate for the residents of Bass.
Husband to Zoe and proud dad of two, Simon is a passionate JackJumpers basketball fan and Hawthorn Football Club supporter, and loves cooking for family and friends, as well as getting out on his beloved Tamar River when he can and dropping a line or two.
