Experienced former Senator and businessman, Stephen Parry, has been selected to run as the endorsed Liberal candidate for the Legislative Council seat of Montgomery.
Born and raised in Burnie, Stephen lived in Acton for 16 years, moving to Ulverstone where for many years he operated a Funeral Director business before being elected to the Senate in 2004. Prior to that he worked as a police officer and detective.
After unfortunately losing his seat as a result of Section 44 citizenship issues in 2017, Stephen returned to the private sector where among other things he established the successful “Section 44 Distillery”, a business which he still holds ownership in and helps to run.
Stephen has held many north-west regional, state and national roles as a volunteer in industry associations, chambers of commerce and industry and other community enterprises.
Mr Parry has taken up residence once again in Ulverstone.
