Due to multiple premises being identified as posing a risk for the transmission of COVID-19 in several Queensland areas overnight, returning Tasmanians who have spent time in these affected regions or premises in the 14 days prior to arrival back in the State may be required to complete 14 days quarantine in government-designated accommodation.
Three local Government areas have been identified as affected regions by Public Health Services and include the areas of City of Brisbane, City of Ipswich and Logan City.
We recognise that there were already Tasmanians in these affected regions or premises who were expecting to be able to home quarantine, so the Tasmanian Government will not charge the mandatory government hotel quarantine fees for these returning Tasmanians who arrive home in the next seven days prior to midnight 3 September 2020.
This allows Tasmanians who wish to return home time to plan and book their flights.
