Media Statement from Tasmanian Liberal Party State President, Rod Scurrah:
“We are pleased to announce that Nick Duigan has been unanimously endorsed by the Party's Executive as the Tasmanian Liberals’ candidate for the Windermere 2021 Legislative Council election.
“This election is about who can deliver more jobs, opportunities and housing for the residents of Windermere.
“Nick Duigan is the only candidate with a plan for creating renewable hydrogen jobs, building new housing for families, supporting local jobs, and improving the health of the Tamar River.
“As part of Peter Gutwein's team, Nick Duigan will deliver real results for Windermere and help to rebuild a stronger Tasmania.
Nick Duigan, Liberal Candidate for Windermere:
“I’ve lived most of my life in Launceston – the electorate of Windermere is my home, in the community I love.
“After more than three decades on television - including 20 years hosting the national fishing program Hook Line and Sinker, I now want to help to rebuild a stronger Tasmania as we continue to recover after the pandemic.
“I am running for Windermere because our community needs real results, not just talk. We need a representative who will help create new local jobs in our region.
“I am an active member of local social, sporting, and recreational aviation communities, and I have volunteered to support men’s health initiatives and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
“I am energetic, friendly and reliable. Please give me your vote in May so I can deliver real results for you as part of Peter Gutwein’s Liberal team”.
