As a Government, we have a strong record on climate action.
We have achieved net zero emissions four years in a row, and have the lowest emissions of any state or territory and some of the lowest in the world.
We have also achieved 100 per cent self-sufficiency in renewable energy, and have legislated a target to double our renewable energy generation to 200 per cent of our current needs by 2040.
Sustainable forestry is part of the solution to climate change, because it is the ultimate renewable and stores carbon.
We continue to take climate action across all sectors of our economy, including in housing, transport, waste, industry, energy and land use, and we have released discussion papers for public consultation on our climate change legislation and action plan to guide additional climate action over the next five years.
These discussion papers are open for public submission now.
We will release our climate action policy in coming weeks during the campaign and stand proud of our record, which is recognised nationally and internationally.
