COALITION TO SUPPORT SPORT ACROSS NORTH EASTERN TASMANIA

Sporting clubs across northern Tasmania will thrive under an elected Coalition Government said Liberal Member for Bass, Bridget Archer today.

“Local sporting clubs are the lifeblood of our communities - they’re meeting places, social hubs and important ways to keep active,” Ms Archer said.

“These clubs and the hundreds of participants, volunteers and staff deserve to be supported by a Government that cares about them.

“Under an elected Coalition Government we will ensure that local community sporting clubs are no longer left behind as they currently are by the Albanese Labor Government.”

An elected Coalition Government will deliver:

  • $80,000 for the provision and installation of an electronic scoreboard to encourage participation at the Rocherlea Football Club / White City Little Athletics;
  • $450,000 to allow the Mowbray Golf Club to modernise amenities and encourage further participation by women and girls;
  • $250,000 for Lilydale Football Club to go towards lighting for safety and accessibility;
  • $200,000 towards the upgrade of shower facilities at the Scottsdale Football Club; and
  • $460,000 to upgrade change rooms at the Hillwood Football Club to support increased female participation, and to deliver lighting facilities to make training safe and accessible.
