A re-elected majority Gutwein Liberal Government will provide support of $250,000 per year over four years to the Housing Industry Association (HIA).

This funding will ensure we have the next generation of residential construction apprentices and job-ready Tasmanians.

It will help to build Tasmania’s High-Vis Army and boost capacity and skills to unleash the full potential of our building and construction sector.

If re-elected, we will formalise this arrangement through a Memorandum of Understanding and work with the HIA to encourage Tasmanians to pursue careers in the residential construction industry.

The partnership will ensure we have the right training in place to address the current trade skills shortage and provide the certainty the sector needs to continue growing.
