Funding committed to honour those who served

A re-elected Morrison Government will invest $45,000 to revitalise the Longford Cenotaph, ensuring the sacrifice of those Tasmanians who died while serving their country would not be forgotten.

Liberal Candidate for Lyons, Susie Bower said the funding was a touching tribute to Longford locals who fought and died defending Australia.

“This project is about honouring the memories of our ex-servicemen and women who have served our country in peacetime and in war, and we thank them for their service,” Ms Bower said.

“As ANZAC Day approaches, Australians will all pause to reflect on the sacrifice of past and present serving defence personnel.

“By paying our respects, we not only pay tribute to their memories, but acknowledge the role they have played preserving our way of life.

“This project is a fantastic community project that gives our diggers the recognition they deserve.”

Only the Morrison Government will continue to deliver a better future for Lyons community, and this is part of our plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
