$500,000 commitment to cater for growth of female sport

A re-elected Morrison Government will contribute $500,000 for a sporting facility upgrade at the Latrobe Recreation Ground.

The project will include the redesign of the existing changeroom facilities to better accommodate female participants and support continued uptake in a wide range of sports.

Liberal Member for Braddon, Gavin Pearce said the Morrison Government’s funding contribution would see the Latrobe Recreation Ground remain one of the North West Coast’s premier sporting facilities.

“Latrobe has one of the fasted growing populations on the coast. Add to that the increase in participation that footy and cricket are seeing year-on-year in the area, as well as increased female participation in both games. That’s why this is money well invested,” Mr Pearce said.

“The changeroom refurbishment will ensure the Latrobe Recreation Ground can continue to host a wide range of sporting events into the future and cater for all who are participating.

“Our funding commitment adds to the funding committed by the Tasmanian Liberal Government and the Latrobe Council and will make this project a reality.

“I have delivered more than 700 individual projects across the region since being elected in 2019, and I plan to continue fighting for projects that invest in the future of Braddon.”

Only the Morrison Government has a real local plan to deliver for the people of Braddon and to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
