A re-elected Federal Liberal Government will invest $400,000 to deliver upgrades to two bowls clubs in northern Tasmania.
The West Launceston Bowls and Community Club will receive $250,000 to improve shade access and build a synthetic green.
The Trevallyn Bowls and Community Club will receive $150,000 to go toward re-roofing the Club’s main building.
Liberal Member for Bass Bridget Archer said that investing in the local community was all part of her plan for northern Tasmania.
“This investment is critical for these clubs to keep providing a meeting place and activities for the local community to come and enjoy,” Mrs Archer said.
“Delivering new and upgraded facilities will help them to grow their membership, improve the experience for members and visitors, and secure the future of the clubs.
“Having worked closely with both of these clubs, I know how important they are to the local community.
“I am proud to be a part of a team that believes in investing in local communities and securing their future.
“Only a strong economy ensures that we can continue to make these sorts of investments, and that is what we will continue to deliver for northern Tasmania if re-elected on Saturday.”
