Elphinstone: A Tasmanian success story backed by 10 years of majority Tasmanian Liberal Governments

Tasmanian businesses are expanding their operations and creating more jobs as confidence continues to grow under majority Tasmanian Liberal Governments.

Elphinstone is continuing to grow with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art $23 million facility in the North West, which has enabled them to secure major defence contracts, and securing hundreds of local jobs.

The Rockliff Liberal Government invested $5 million into the project providing Elphinstone with the confidence they needed to expand.

“Elphinstone is a great example of Tasmanian home-grown business that has taken on the world, one piece of equipment at a time,” Premier Jeremy Rockliff said.

“This $23 million facility upgrade has also supported local jobs during construction, and will inject an additional $120 million and at create at least 75 jobs.

“Our Liberal Governments has taken Tasmania from economic laggard to economic leader over the past 10 years, and we’ve achieved a lot. But there is more work to do.

“Only a majority Liberal Government has a 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s future that will deliver the certainty and stability Tasmanians need, so we can take action on the issues affecting Tasmanians right now.

“The alternative is a Coalition of Chaos, with no credible plan for the future.”

Comments attributable to Managing Director, Dale Elphinstone:

“The Rockliff Liberal Government’s support has provided our Elphinstone Group with the confidence to invest significantly more to assist us to win Land 400.

“This will also position us to help lead Tasmania’s defence industries to be able to bid for and secure other defence work.

“We hope this investment, coupled with our many years of export experience, will enable our industries collective efforts, including the State Government, to turn this into an export industry and provide long term benefits for our local communities.

“We are very fortunate to have such an engaging Government who have a long term vision for what will benefit not only our state but our entire country.”
