Upper House Nelson MP Meg Webb has finally put her cards on the table – she will vote to kill the stadium, kill the AFL team, and deny generations of local kids the dream of playing for the AFL team in their home colours, Liberal for Nelson Marcus Vermey said today.
“Ms Webb has shown her true colours today with her announced motion for Parliament – she is anti-stadium which means she is anti-AFL team,” Mr Vermey said.
“Ms Webb is living in lala land if she thinks that the AFL will renegotiate the deal, they have been crystal clear that they won’t.
“My position is clear: I back the Stadium 100 per cent.
“Ultimately, as the Premier has said, the Parliament is going to have its say on the Stadium, and every vote in the Upper House will be crucial.
“If you live in the electorate of Nelson and you support the AFL team and the AFL stadium, then the only way to help ensure it happens is to vote for Marcus Vermey on May 24.”
