With Dean Winter’s vote tanking, he’s backflipped on his own policy in an effort to sandbag votes in key areas.
Mr Winter told the ABC earlier this week that GP locations would be determined through consultation and based on need, and not where Labor would get the most votes.
He said he would not “pork barrel” to “find areas to find the most votes”.
Mr Winter’s desperation is reaching new lows by announcing sites willy nilly going back on what he said a mere five days earlier.
It’s clear he is only pork barrelling to shore up Labor areas, including his own where he is bleeding votes like no Labor leader before him.
His promise to ban pork barrelling has been exposed as a lie.
If re-elected, the Tasmanian Liberal Government will run an open and transparent process to determine the best location for the five new GP bulk-billing clinics. This will be based on need and what’s best for Tasmanians – as it should be.
You can’t trust Labor.
This election comes down to one choice: a strong Liberal team with a real plan or another merry-go-round of chaos and compromise.
Let’s get on with it.
Let’s finish the job for Tasmania.
